Disney Transportation is free and runs before the parks open until around an hour after they close. Screens outside the hotel lobby will have estimated arrival times, and each Disney park has bus pickup and dropoff areas.
Yes! Refillable water bottles are also allowed and tap water is free throughout the parks.
Totally up to you and your child, but estimate about $20 per quick service meal and factor in souvenir costs. Band students will be given a meal card that will work at the resort dining hall and any food service space at Disney, but they will need to have their own money for both travel days and the day at Universal Studios.
Yes! Medical devices such as CPAPs or other items do not count as one of your carryon or personal items. Important: if you need daily medication, make sure that it is in a bag that you carry on to the plane. For insulin or other items, make sure that everything is labeled with names and packed in a ziplock bag so it can be removed and screened if needed. Disney hotels have beverage coolers that will keep meds cold as needed.
If your student is traveling on their own and will have medical supplies, please let one of the band directors know so that they can go through security with an adult.
Keep any rechargeable batteries, including in laptops/iPads, etc., in a backpack with you on the plane.
Any liquids must be under 3.4oz each and fit in a 1 quart ziploc bag. NO EXCEPTIONS- other than medication, TSA will make you throw these items away.
Pack sunscreen, perfume, toothpaste, and any other liquid in your checked baggage (may be wise to put it in a ziploc in case it leaks!)
Southwest provides free drinks and snacks on board, and you can use a personal device to watch free movies and tv. YOU MUST HAVE HEADPHONES TO WATCH MOVIES OR LISTEN TO MUSIC.
Empty water bottles can go with you. You can fill them once you get through TSA and take them onto the plane with you.
DO NOT bring scissors, pocket knives, or anything that could be considered a weapon.
Yes, if you are over 18 you MUST. MUST. MUST. have a Real ID issued by a federal agency, or a passport. Students who are not yet 18 years old can check in with adults.
No, your ticket is for one park per day.
**Universal tickets will allow for hopping between Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, but do not include Volcano Bay or Epic Universe.
Each room will have two beds, a beverage cooler (refrigerator that doesn't get super cold), coffee maker with supplies, and soap/shampoo/conditioner. The lobby store will have some items for sale (including first aid, toothpaste, etc) and the parks often have sunscreen available in several shops.
